Job summary

The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to evaluate referred patients and develop individualized rehabilitation plans in a geriatric care setting.

You will implement treatment programs, set measurable goals, document progress, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care while maintaining professional standards and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapist program.
• Must have a valid professional license and state registration.
• Overseeing and supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care preferred.
• Well versed with documentation writing.
• Evaluations, weekly progress notes, re-certification and discharge documentations.
• Collaborates with all disciplines to provide best patient-centered treatment and care.
• Exceptional patient service skills and ability to demonstrate clinical excellence.
• Punctuality, adherence to schedule and professionalism.
• Performs other duties assigned by Director of Rehabilitation.
• Confidentiality, HIPPA and Federal Residents Rights compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assess referred patients requiring rehabilitation and determine medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations and rehabilitation potential.
• Establish and administer a treatment program with goals based on patient capacity and tolerance under physician direction.
• Set realistic and achievable goals; document and record patient condition; educate patients and families in therapy methods.

Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities Include:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the assessment of referred patients that require rehabilitation services which includes: providing direct patient care to assess their medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation. Also, the Occupational Therapist will establish and administer a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patients capacity and tolerance under the direction of the Physician. As well, the Occupational Therapist must set realistic and achievable goals for their patients, document and record the patients condition and educate patients and families in an appropriate therapy method.

Qualifications/Requirements:
