Job summary

The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess referred patients and design individualized rehabilitation plans. You will establish treatment goals, provide direct patient care, and educate patients and families under physician direction.

You will supervise OT Assistants, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and maintain thorough documentation, ensuring HIPAA compliance and professional conduct at all times.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapist program (BSc/MA).
• Must hold a valid OT license/registration for the state of practice.
• Oversee and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric care preferred.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Experience with evaluations, progress notes, re-certification and discharge documentation.
• Collaborates with all disciplines to provide patient-centered care.
• Maintains professionalism, punctuality and confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Reports to work on time and adheres to schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assess referred patients and provide direct patient care to determine rehabilitation needs.
• Establish and administer a treatment program with goals according to patient capacity and tolerance.
• Set realistic goals, document patient status, and educate patients and families in therapy methods.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and coordinate with the rehab team.

Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities Include:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the assessment of referred patients that require rehabilitation services which includes: providing direct patient care to assess their medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation. Also, the Occupational Therapist will establish and administer a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patients capacity and tolerance under the direction of the Physician. As well, the Occupational Therapist must set realistic and achievable goals for their patients, document and record the patients condition and educate patients and families in an appropriate therapy method.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must have graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapist college or university.
• Must have a valid professional license and registration for state of practice.
• The Occupational Therapist is responsible for overseeing and supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred but not limited to.
• Well versed with documentation writing
• Evaluations, weekly progress notes, re-certification and discharge documentations.
• Collaborates with all disciplines to provide best patient centered treatment and care.
• Exceptional patient service skills and ability to demonstrate clinical excellence
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
• Perform all other duties assigned by Director of Rehabilitation
• Compliance with confidentiality, HIPPA and Federal Residents Rights.
