Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist at Fairfield Hospital to enhance patients’ ability to perform daily tasks through assessments and personalized treatment plans. The role encompasses outpatient, inpatient, pediatric, and off-site settings.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing plans, administering therapies, and educating families. Licensing is required; BLS is preferred with completion within 30 days for some locations.

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of current practice or eligible for traineeship/temporary license (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH).
• 2 Years Of Experience In Equivalent Setting (preferred).
• Demonstrates ability to work with patients across age groups and collaborate with care teams.

Responsibilities

• Review physician referrals and patient history to determine therapy needs.
• Conduct and document patient evaluations and treatment plans.
• Administer OT treatments and create custom equipment.
• Develop programs for functional skills, vocational training, daily activities, and motor skills.
• Monitor progress and adjust goals; participate in care conferences.
• Educate patients and families on at-home treatment procedures.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist plays a crucial role in enhancing patients' ability to perform daily tasks related to work and life. They conduct assessments, devise treatment plans based on physician referrals, and document patient progress. This encompasses outpatient, inpatient, pediatric, and off-site settings.

Essential Functions:

• Review physician referrals and patient medical history to determine therapy needs.
• Conduct and document patient evaluations, re-evaluations, and treatment plans according to department protocols.
• Administer prescribed occupational therapy treatments and create custom equipment for individual needs.
• Develop programs focusing on functional skills, vocational training, daily activities, and motor skills.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment goals and plans as necessary, participating in patient care conferences.
• Educate patients and families on at-home treatment procedures.
