Job summary

Princeton Staffing Solutions is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for a public school setting in Dover, DE. This W2 local or travel contract role involves providing related therapy services to students receiving special education, supporting their physical, sensory, and self-care development to help achieve IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• NBCOT certification is required.
• Valid State Occupational Therapy License.
• Educational/Teacher Certification if mandated by state guidelines.
• Experience in pediatrics and sensory integration preferred.
• CPR & First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to evaluate fine motor, visual-motor, perceptual, sensory-motor, and self-care skills.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including teachers, therapists, and families.
• Develop and implement IEPs with measurable goals and objectives tailored to each student.
• Deliver therapy sessions in individual, group, or consultative models based on IEP requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
• Support student independence and participation in the academic environment.

Position Overview

This school-based OT role involves working with students receiving special education services, supporting their physical, emotional, sensory, and self-care development to help them achieve IEP goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments using diagnostic tools to evaluate fine motor, visual-motor, perceptual, sensory-motor, and self-care skills.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams, including teachers, therapists, and families.
• Develop and implement IEPs with measurable goals and objectives tailored to each student's needs.
• Deliver therapy sessions through individual, group, or consultative models based on IEP requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
• Support student independence and participation in the academic environment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
• Valid State Occupational Therapy License
• Educational/Teacher Certification if mandated by state guidelines
• Experience in pediatrics, sensory integration, neurodevelopmental therapy (preferred)
• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in school-based OT roles
• Understanding of IDEA and state-specific special education regulations
• Skilled in writing and executing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Familiarity with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, and other disabilities
