Job summary

RCM Healthcare Services is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for a school-based role in Winchester, NH. The position is onsite with a 30-hour work week during the school year, offering an hourly rate of $60–$65.

You will assess students’ fine motor and developmental skills, collaborate with teachers and families, lead IEP-related meetings, implement remediation plans, document progress, and supervise district COTA as needed. NH OT licensure and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Licensure to practice Occupational Therapy in NH is required.
• Experience with school-based OT and IEP processes is preferred.
• Ability to assess and plan interventions for students aged K-12.

Responsibilities

• Assesses students' fine motor and development skills to identify deficits and inform recommendations.
• Consults with teachers, parents, and other professionals to plan services and recommendations.
• Facilitates meetings (IEP conferences, parent meetings, in-services) for planning and information sharing.
• Instructs students to implement remediation plans for functional limitations.
• Prepares documentation (evaluations, progress notes, parent/teacher contacts) for writing support and recommendations.
• Presents information on OT topics to communicate treatment plans and gain feedback.
• Conducts RTIs to implement remediations of functional limitations.
• Screens students to determine the need for further assessment.
• Supervises district COTA and supports other staff as needed.

Location: Winchester/Hinsdale NH; Onsite – School Setting

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS

• Assesses students' fine motor skills and development skills (e.g. perceptual-motor, motor coordination, sensory development, muscle strength, etc.) for the purpose of determining their deficits and developing recommendations.
• Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services and/or making recommendations.
• Facilitates meetings (e.g. IEP conferences, parent meetings, in-services, etc.) for the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding students' functional goals.
• Instructs students for the purpose of implementing plans for remediation of functional limitations.
• Prepares documentation (e.g. evaluations, observations, progress, contacts with parents, teachers and outside professionals, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support, developing recommendations and/or conveying information.
• Presents information on various topics related to professional expertise in occupational therapy for the purpose of communicating information and gaining feedback on treatment issues.
• Conducts RTIs for the purpose of implementing plans for remediations of functional limitations
• Screens students for the purpose of determining the need for further individualized assessment.

Other Job Functions

• Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
• Participates in various meetings (e.g. parent conferences, in-service training, site meetings, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information and/or meeting credential requirements.
• Supervision of district COTA

• Experience Required: Prior job-related experience.
• Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required
  • Skills to apply assessment techniques and treatment modalities and communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of assessment techniques and treatment modalities, relevant education codes, state and district policies, and child development patterns.
  • Abilities to complete a case study and develop an individual education plan; work independently, be flexible and work under time constraints, work effectively with staff, parents, students, and community. Significant physical abilities include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, reaching/handling/fingering, talking/hearing conversations, near/far visual acuity/visual accommodation.
• Licenses, Certifications, and/or Testing Required: Licensure for NH Occupational Therapy, Valid Driver's License.
