Job summary

BrightSpring Health Services through Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation is seeking an Occupational Therapist to deliver true one-on-one neuro rehabilitation in home and community settings in the Portsmouth area.

The role offers flexible scheduling, clinical autonomy, and a focus on meaningful functional outcomes, with a separate emphasis on documented care time and local coverage to avoid high-volume workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted license as an Occupational Therapist by state in which practicing.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Minimum of one year's work experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques for complex neurological diagnoses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans.
• Regularly reassess effectiveness of treatment plans; attend staffing meetings and family conferences.
• Discharge evaluations; make home and community safety recommendations; provide resources and referrals.
• Communicate patients' needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, patient and family.

You'll work with individuals recovering from neurological conditions such as stroke, TBI, SCI, Parkinson's disease, and more, helping them regain independence with daily activities, cognitive and executive functioning, community reintegration, home management, return to work, and the routines that are meaningful to their lives.

Instead of simply practicing skills in a clinic, you have the opportunity to help someone cook in their own kitchen, navigate a grocery store, return to work, manage their daily routine, or safely participate in their community again.

Responsibilities

What you will do: Responsibilities listed include but not limited to:

• Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans
• Regularly re-assess effectiveness of treatment plans, attend staffing meetings and family conferences
• Perform discharge evaluations, make appropriate recommendations for home and community safety, and provide referral and education resourcesCommunicate patient's needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, person receiving services and family members
• Communicates with other disciplines to ensure collaboration, coordination of care and enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

What you will need:

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from a college or university with an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• Current, unrestricted license as an Occupational Therapist by state in which practicing
• Current CPR Certification
• A minimum of one year's work experience as an Occupational Therapist
• Demonstrates knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological diagnoses preferred
• Communicates effectively and professionally in verbal and written interactions
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Moving, lifting, or transferring of patients which may involve lifting of up to 100 pounds following safety procedures
• Duties require fine motor skills,visual acuity, and walking/ standing for extended periods
• Additional physical requirements include: pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning frequently at times
• A health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on specific location policy, local and state regulations to verify employee is physically capable of performing assigned duties with or without reasonable accommodations
