Job summary

Meadowbrook Healthcare in a collaborative and patient-centered environment is seeking an Occupational Therapist OT. You will assess patients, develop and implement treatment plans, and educate patients and their families on rehabilitation goals.

The role requires NYS OT licensure and active NBOT registration, with opportunities for professional growth and a supportive team. Salary is $40-45 per hour and benefits include tuition reimbursement, health benefits, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid and current New York State Occupational Therapy license and registration with the National Board Certification for Occupational Therapy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and caretakers regarding anticipated Occupational Therapy treatment plan, level of participation, and expected outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Completes thorough and accurate initial assessment and establishes appropriate plan of care for each patient as prescribed by physician.
• Utilizes diagnostic/prognostic musculoskeletal, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests.
• Implements ADL training, ROM, fine motor activities, functional mobility, therapeutic exercise, and education for patient and family.
• Educates patient and care persons in use and care of therapeutic equipment, assistive devices, orthotic and prosthetic devices, etc.
• Documents initial evaluation, daily treatment, reassessment, discharge and supplementary documentation thoroughly and accurately for communication with physicians and rehab team.
• Participates in multidisciplinary treatment and discharge planning, attends care plan meetings.
• Directs and supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants, Rehab Aides, students, and other support personnel as indicated by New York State licensure.

Occupational Therapist OT Responsibilities:

• Completes thorough and accurate initial assessment and establishes appropriate plan of care for each patient as prescribed by physician.
• Utilizes appropriate and accurate diagnostic/ prognostic musculoskeletal, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests.
• Implements appropriate treatment utilizing Activity of Daily Living (ADL) training, ROM, fine motor activities, functional mobility, therapeutic exercise for gross motor strength, cognitive-perceptual and sensorimotor activities, and patient and family/care person education.

• Provides patient education in all areas of rehabilitation plan of care to maximize patient independence and assist in the efficiency of the rehabilitation process.

• Documents initial evaluation, daily treatment, reassessment, discharge and supplementary documentation as indicated thoroughly and accurately to provide effective communication with physicians and members of the rehabilitation team.
• Participates in multidisciplinary treatment and discharge planning, attends care plan meetings.
