Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide services to patients developing, recovering and maintaining occupational skills. Reports to: Director of Rehabilitation Services; FLSA: Non-exempt.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required; Licensure: KY state licensure; Certifications: BLS within 30 days of hire. Essential duties include assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and patient education.

Qualifications

• KY state licensure for Occupational Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient's ability to safely perform occupational skills and design the plan of care.
• Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Document subjective and objective findings; monitor and modify the plan of care as needed.
• Educate the patient and family/caregiver about deficits.
• Plan and/or assist with discharge from therapy services and provide guidance on adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervise and delegate care by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians.

Provides occupational therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain occupational skills.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy Required

License: KY State Licensure for Occupational Therapy

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Essential Functions

• Assesses patient's ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
• Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Documents subjective and objective findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.
