Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in Rapid City, SD is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess clients and design therapy programs across post-acute, long-term care and home health settings.

You will conduct evaluations, set goals, educate clients and families, document progress, and adapt plans to changing needs while complying with licensure and NBCOT standards.

Eligible candidates must be licensed in SD/IA, hold NBCOT certification if applicable, and maintain BLS; a driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
• Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Occupational Therapist.
• When working at Sanford Health Facility: NBCOT certification required; valid driver's license may be needed.
• Maintains required competencies and certifications.
• BLS for healthcare providers required or within first 60 days of employment.
• New graduates may work with a temporary SD/IA license.

Responsibilities

• Assesses clients/patients/residents and designs occupational therapy treatments.
• Performs evaluations and provides interventions for functional, cognitive or behavioral impairments.
• Evaluates abilities and develops therapy goals and plans; documents progress.
• Educates clients/patients/residents to enhance understanding and functional outcomes.
• May supervise assistants, aides, or students; provides ongoing education to peers.
