Job summary

Powerback Rehabilitation to You seeks an Occupational Therapist for nationwide 13-week assignments. You will evaluate patients, develop and implement therapy plans across settings, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to restore and optimize function.

Travel flexibility is essential; candidates must be willing to reside temporarily away from home and maintain high-quality care delivery in diverse environments. Excellent communication and documentation skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from ACOTE-accredited program.
• Initial registration with NBCOT.
• Valid and current OT license in the practicing state.
• Must be able to travel nationwide and temporarily reside away from home.

Responsibilities

• Supervise OT Assistants, temporary licensees, students and support staff per licensure and standards.
• Deliver rehab services per plan of care with proper documentation.
• Attend patient care and staffing conferences; contribute to meetings.
• Refer patients to other disciplines as needed to address needs.
• Consult with rehab team to select appropriate therapy regimen.
• Adapt plan of care to patient needs for progress.
• Promote safe environment; enforce safety standards.
• Order supplies and equipment as necessary.
• Maintain and report on equipment condition and needs.
• Prioritize patient service and compassionate care for patients and families.
• Assess patients, develop goals, implement OT plans, document progress; perform related duties.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (ACOTE-accredited)

Initial NBOT/NBCOT certification

Valid OT license (state of practice)

Willingness to travel and temporarily reside away from home

Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapist - Journey Traveler must be able to travel nationwide for 13 week assignments. This position provides flexibility to travel the country and work in various settings. On assignment the Occupational Therapist organizes and conducts occupational therapy programs for the location to facilitate rehabilitation. In addition, they direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. The Occupational Therapist facilitates the learning of those skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, in order to diminish or correct pathology.

1. 1. As necessary or applicable, supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards.
2. 2. Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services; adherence to an established plan of care, department and patient(s)' schedule, and timely documentation of services.
3. 3. Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other related meetings.
4. 4. Makes referrals to other disciplines, agencies in order to address the comprehensive needs of the patient.
5. 5. Consults with other members of the rehabilitation team to select the most appropriate therapeutic regimen consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
6. 6. Adapts program and/or plan of care according to the needs of individual patients.
7. 7. Promotes a safe environment and enforces the elimination of fire and safety hazards.
8. 8. Orders supplies and equipment as necessary.
9. 9. Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment as necessary.
10. 10. Puts patient service first: ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
11. 11. Screens, examines and evaluates patients, including history, systems review, and application of appropriate tests and measures, synthesis information and interprets examination findings in order to establish a diagnosis, identify impairments, determine the predicted level of improvement and the time required to achieve it, identify precautions/contraindications and design and plan of care. Develops appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with the patient and caregivers, implements the occupational therapy treatment plan, and completes all related documentation and record keeping regarding these services. Services include but are not limited to application of therapeutic techniques in areas such as:

1. 12. Designs, fabricates, fits and/or applies adaptive devices, and trains patients in the use of adaptive devices including orthotics and prosthetics.
2. 13. Selects appropriate activities suited to the individual's physical and mental capacity, intelligence level and interest.
3. 14. Instructs patients in the skills and techniques required for participation in functional activities and evaluates patient progress, attitudes, and behavior as related to rehabilitative potential.
4. 15. Performs routine reexamination as needed/required to modify/progress plan of treatment.
5. 16. Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

1. 1. They must have a Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards.
2. 2. They must have initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
3. 3. The Occupational Therapist-Journey Traveler must hold a valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice.
4. 4. Must be available to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the therapist's primary home.

Posted Salary Range

USD $55.00 - USD $70.00 /Hr.
