Job summary

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Michigan is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Inpatient Rehab team at Mary Free Bed Covenant location. You will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and help restore independence.

This full-time role features a 40-hour week, Monday–Friday with weekend rotation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth. We value patient-centered care and collaborative practice across disciplines to restore hope and freedom

Qualifications

• Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association accredited OT program.
• Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• State of Michigan licensure required to practice OT.
• BLS certification at minimum.

• Provide patient care within the scope of licensure and regulations.
• Evaluate patient condition and establish goals with patient and family.
• Document progress and update treatment plans accordingly.

Primary Location : Mary Free Bed at Covenant

Department : Inpatient Rehab

Weekly Schedule Hours : 40-hours a week, Monday - Friday, 3 weekend shifts within a 6-week period.

Compensation: $32.05 and goes up based on experience

Assumes full responsibility for evaluating patients’ need for occupational therapy.Plans and executes individual treatment programsin accordance withthe state of Michigan licensure and OT scope of practice.Keeps treatment skills updated through continuing education,evidence basedresearch, and program development. Perform job responsibilitiesin accordance withthe program’s strategicobjectivesand goals to carry out organizational strategicobjectives.

• Staff will provide patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification or registration and as required by law and regulation.

• Establishes treatment goals in collaboration withpatientand family asappropriate, and in collaboration with the treatment team. Treatment goals should be interdisciplinary and patient-centered whenever possible. • Re-evaluatespatient’sstatus and effects of treatment.Revises treatment plan as necessaryReviewsrevised goals with patient and family asappropriate.

• Evaluatespatient’sneed for medical equipment and orders theappropriate equipmentas necessary.Evaluates equipment upon delivery and instructspatient,patient’sfamily, and health care workers on its use.

• Participates in planning for patient discharge by considering and communicating with patient, family, community support/services, and environmental limitations.

• Demonstrates competence in relevant software and hardwarerequiredto meet job responsibilities.(Q)

• Documents patient’s status and progress throughinitialevaluation, progress notes, and discharge summary according toestablishedinternal/external time standards and adherence to reimbursement guidelines.(Q)

• Communicates with others to integrate occupational therapy treatment with all aspects of patient care.(Q,S)

• Participates in conferences/discussions as needed and exchange of written records with other interdisciplinary team members to integrateoccupationaltherapy treatment plan.

• Instructs the patient and the family in occupational therapy procedures as part of providing patient and familyeducationincluding writteninstructionsas necessary.

Essential Job Qualifications
