Job summary

Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, GA is seeking an Occupational Therapist for Navicent Health Medical Center - Inpatient Rehabilitation to assess and treat patients, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with the rehabilitation team.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with days and two weekend days per month; requires B.S. or M.S. in OT, Georgia licensure, BLS CPR, and hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current licensure in Georgia.
• CPR/BLS Level C certification.
• Education/Experience: B.S. or M.S. in OT; hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care assessment and treatment according to standard of practice.
• Documents patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries timely.
• Maintains accurate patient records and ICD-10 coding as appropriate.
• Collaborates with physicians, nurses and care staff to plan next level of care.
• Promotes quality patient outcomes and participates in process improvements.

This Position Is Sign On Bonus Eligible EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: B.S. or M.S. degree from accredited occupational therapy school. Previous hospital experience preferred.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION Current licensure in the state of applicable state. CPR certification in Basic Life Support, Level C.

Essential Functions Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building. Encourages patients and significant others in setting goals. Recognizes and responds to changes in the patient's physiologic state. Recommends next level of care. Ensures quality patient outcomes. Supervises support staff assisting with patient care by providing direction and feedback. Maintains accurate documentation. Completes written patent evaluations, progress notes, and discharge notes per policy. Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient/family education, charges and departmental statistics, and ICD-10 codes as appropriate. Maintains patient records in a systematic order and documentation is legible. Ensures that documentation is legible. Meets department financial and productivity standards. Understands the budgeted expectation. Maintains productivity standards. Adjusts individual schedules to meet the needs of the patient and department. Participates in process management to optimize quality and efficiency of services. Identifies quality and operational opportunities. Maintains competence related to age/developmentally specific patient care by regularly updating knowledge of growth and development and the aging process.
