UK King’s Daughters in Ashland, KY is seeking an Occupational Therapist to independently perform evaluations and deliver evidence-based interventions, developing patient-centered treatment plans. Job Description: Job Summary

Responsible for independently performing occupational therapy evaluations and delivering evidence-based interventions to enhance patient function, safety, and quality of life. Develops and implements individualized treatment plans based on physician orders, clinical findings, and patient goals. Demonstrates increased clinical competence and efficiency in managing diverse and moderately complex caseloads. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote patient-centered care, provides education to patients and caregivers, and supports departmental quality improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and professional standards.

Essential Functions
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and develops individualized treatment plans for patients with physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments.
  • Implements evidence-based therapeutic interventions, adaptive techniques, and assistive technologies to improve patient independence and functional performance.
  • Demonstrates advanced clinical reasoning in modifying treatment approaches and addressing complex rehabilitation needs.
  • Assesses patient progress and outcomes, revises plans of care as appropriate, and coordinates safe discharge planning and follow-up recommendations.
  • Provides patient and caregiver education on home exercise programs, safety, and adaptive strategies to support carryover and long-term outcomes.
  • Collaborates effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure integrated and efficient patient care.
  • Supervises and mentors rehabilitation assistants, technicians, and students in the delivery of quality therapy services.
  • Maintains accurate and timely clinical documentation consistent with professional, legal, and organizational standards.
  • Participates in departmental initiatives, quality improvement projects, and continuing education to advance professional competency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy or a related field

Master’s degree in occupational therapy or a related field is preferred

Experience Requirement

2-3 years of experience

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.

Certifications & Licensures

Maintains active licensure as an Occupational Therapist Achieves and maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
