Job summary

The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients of all ages, serving as a role model and clinical resource for staff and students. This position qualifies for a sign-on bonus and is based in Urbana, IL within the Carle Health system.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's in Occupational Therapy, be licensed in Illinois, and demonstrate safety, education, and documentation practices consistent with department policy.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Evaluate clinical findings to determine OT diagnoses and outcomes.
• Perform examinations with valid methods relevant to the chief complaint.
• Screen patients to determine need for further therapy services.
• Educate patients, families, and staff using effective teaching methods.
• Document evaluations, plans of care, and patient responses
• Coordinate with staff and students as a clinical resource.

Job description

The occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients of all ages. Serves as a role model in the delivery of professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students.

Field of Study

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

• Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair and floor.
• If applicable is aware of and demonstrates safe and appropriate body mechanics to reduce the risk of injury to self, staff and patients.
• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care providers using relevant and effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and outcomes of care.
• Performs examination, selecting reliable and valid examination methods relevant to the chief complaint, results of screening and history.
• Screens patients using procedures to determine the effectiveness of and need for further therapy services, if appropriate.
• Uses support personnel according to legal standards and ethical guidelines. Documents evaluations and plans of care according to department policy including goals, modifications of treatment plans and patients' response to treatments.
