Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide occupational therapy services to individuals and families in a collaborative team setting within our New Jersey facilities.

The role requires graduation from an accredited OT program, active OT license, and BLS certificate. Candidates will evaluate patients of all ages, document timely, and tailor care to diverse patient needs while adhering to organizational standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy school.
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS/Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluation for patients of all ages within the department's responsibility.
• Completes all documentation within the designated timeline.
• Identifies patient needs and delivers care tailored to age, culture, language, and accessibility.
• Adheres to the organization’s competencies and standards.
• Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes/pulls 100 lbs., stands at least 6 hours daily.

The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy services to individuals and their families in a team relationship with other health care providers in a setting that is designated by the department.

Responsibilities

• Performs all functions associated with the evaluation patients for all age group within the department's responsibility.
• Completes all documentation required within the regarded timeline according to department.
• Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.) This process includes communicating with the patient, parent and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
• Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
• Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 100 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
