Assesses clients/patients/residents and designs occupational therapy treatments to help them develop, maintain, and recover their ability to perform daily tasks. The therapist conducts evaluations and provides interventions for functional, cognitive, or behavioral impairments, developing realistic goals and administering appropriate programs. Documentation is maintained in accordance with departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements. The role includes variable work schedules, promotion of the department, Good Samaritan Society, and Sanford Health. Interaction with providers, case managers, family, third‑party payers, and public organizations is expected. Supervision of assistants, aides, and students may be required, along with ongoing education and training for peers.
