Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide in-home services, working under physician direction to improve functional outcomes for patients with neuromuscular, skeletal, and perceptual disorders.

The role requires an accredited OT degree, current state license, CPR certification, and at least one year of relevant experience. A valid driver’s license and strong communication, documentation, and time-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
• Current state OT license.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of one year experience in acute, rehab, outpatient, home health or long-term care settings.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home occupational therapy services under physician direction.
• Assess patients’ neuromuscular, skeletal and perceptual disorders and develop treatment plans.
• Schedule patient visits and coordinate with office staff.
• Document patient progress and maintain confidential records.
• Collaborate with agency staff, physicians, hospital staff and patients’ families.

Overview

Position Details:

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.

Licensure: Current state license. Valid drivers license.

Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in acute, rehab, outpatient, home health or long-term care setting required.

Certifications: CPR certification.

Other:

Employee possesses good assessment and treatment planning skills. Employee is energetic, gets along well with others, has good time management and problem solving skills. Employee possesses good communication and documentation skills. Employee is in good physical health and able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently with occasional lifting of over 50 pounds. Employee frequently will work independently and must be able to handle emergencies without assistance. Employee adap[ts to and works effectively with change, takes initiative, sets challenging objectives and values and seeks opportunity to learn.Employee may be required to drive in hazardous conditions; must be able to follow written or verbal instructions and read a map. Employee must independently schedule patient visits in timely and efficient manner; checking in with office daily to update schedule. Employee has regular contact with agency staff members, physicians, hospital staff, and general public. Employee regularly handles confidential information.

Preferred Experience

Two years' experience in acute care or home care preferred.
