Job summary

Synergy Orthopedic Specialists, Inc. seeks an Occupational Therapist to perform evaluations and treatments for orthopedic rehabilitation, with emphasis on hand and elbow cases.

The role requires current OT licensure and hands-on experience in a clinical setting. You will use EMR systems, conduct functional measurements, participate in functional capacity exams, supervise assistants, manage scheduling and patient flow, and collaborate with physicians and nurse practitioners to maintain

Qualifications

• Education: BS in Occupational Therapy; Master's degree preferred.
• Experience: Orthopedic rehabilitation; 2+ years hand/elbow experience.
• Licenses: Active OT license in good standing.
• Certifications: Hand Therapist or related modality certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform Occupational Therapy evaluations and treatments.
• Proficient with use of current EMR.
• Perform objective measurements (psychometric, isometric, functional).
• Perform and/or participate in functional capacity exams and work conditioning.
• Supervise and coordinate conditioning programs with OT assistants/aides.
• Schedule patients and manage patient flow.
• Interact with physicians and nurse practitioners to oversee care.
• Provide motivation, education and support to patients.
• Involve in treatment time and billing and supervision of staff.
• Assist in clinical training and site administration meetings.

Job description

Perform Occupational Therapy Evaluations and treatments.Proficient with use of current EMRPerform objective measurements, including but not limited to psychometric, isometric, and functionalPerform and/or participate in functional capacity examinations and work conditioning.Perform Patient Care Conference (PCC) and maintain patient chart management.Direct supervision of patients in conditioning program via occupational therapy assistant and/or aide.Supervise patient scheduling.Supervise patient flow.Development and maintenance of patient education program.Oversee and interact with physicians and nurse practitioners.Provide motivation, education, guidance, and support to patients.Resolve and maintain quality of care issues.Treatment time and billingPatient scheduling and patient flow issues.Public relations.Patient and referral source dilemmas as they arise.Assist in clinical training as necessary including Aide competency.Schedule meetings as necessary with the Site Manager and administration to discuss progress and future goals.Education- BS, Preferred Masters of Occupational TherapyExperience- Orthopedic Rehabilitation.Preferred 2+ years experience with hand and elbowLicenses- Active and current Occupational Therapy licensePreferred Hand Therapist Certification, Physical AgentModalities certification, or Certified Hand Therapist
