Job summary

Santa Monica Healthcare Center is hiring an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to provide compassionate, standards-based care aligned with the resident's plan of care. The role includes treating neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualified candidates hold a California OTA license, an associate degree in OT, and prefer at least one year of clinical experience; new graduates are welcome. A sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal patients.
• Performs tests and measurements for strength, range of motion, and respiration.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists patients with tools and treatments for specific needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts home assessments for safe discharge with OT/PT as needed.

Education

Associate degree in Occupational Therapy

ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
