Job summary

Fremont Healthcare Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant to administer treatments and assist in discharge planning for residents in a supportive, family-like environment.

The OTA must hold a California license, with a preferred 1 year of clinical experience; new graduates are welcome. A sign-on bonus and PTO are offered, with referral bonuses also available to team members.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
• Current license to practice as an OTA issued by California.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Performs tests and measurements for muscle strength, ROM, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established care plan.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists patients with tools and treatments for specific needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts home assessments to support discharge planning with OT/PT.

• ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
