Job summary

Progressive Rehab Solutions seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to assist the Occupational Therapist in long-term care and related settings. You will implement treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance and functional independence.

You will participate in individual and group therapy, document accurately, educate patients and caregivers, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team while pursuing ongoing licensure and continuing education.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
  • One year of experience in occupational therapy or rehabilitation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing treatment plans for individual or group therapy.
  • Support patient mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence strategies.
  • Complete clinical documentation accurately and timely in line with Medicare and company guidelines.
  • Prepare and maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas; ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Communicate patient progress to the supervising OT and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in continuing education and maintain licensure compliance.

The role supports patient rehabilitation by implementing treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence.II. Essential Job FunctionsA. Patient CareCarry out treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist for individual or group therapyAssist patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and enduranceProvide gait training, transfer training, and therapeutic exercise programsAssist patients with the use of assistive devices such as walkers, canes, or wheelchairsEducate patients and caregivers on prescribed exercises and safety techniquesB. Documentation / Logistics / Patient SatisfactionComplete all required clinical documentation accurately and timely in accordance with Medicare, regulatory, and company guidelinesUtilize electronic documentation systems effectivelyAssist with preparation and maintenance of therapy equipment and treatment areasSupport accurate recordkeeping and reportingContribute to patient satisfaction and quality outcomes while meeting established productivity standardsC. Collaboration / SupervisionCommunicate patient progress and observations to the supervising Occupational TherapistCollaborate with interdisciplinary team members regarding patient care plansParticipate in team meetings as requiredD.
