Job summary

The VIOS Clinic is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to provide direct occupational therapy care under supervision in a skilled nursing facility setting. You will implement individualized treatment plans and help patients achieve functional progress and improved quality of life.

Position requires NBCOT certification and state licensure, OT program graduation, CPR certification, and strong teamwork, communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

  • NBCOT certification and current state licensure.
  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
  • CPR certification maintained during employment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a team.
  • Physical ability to perform patient lifting, positioning, and mobility tasks.

Responsibilities

Job description

Role Overview:

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct occupational therapy care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist in a skilled nursing facility setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and follow individualized treatment plans for patients with diverse needs, including orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary conditions.
  • Assist patients in achieving functional progress and improving quality of life.
  • Document patient progress accurately and timely, utilizing therapy software.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, therapy, and medical staff.
  • Engage in community health projects and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and support staff.
  • Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and confidentiality standards, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Participate in patient evacuation and assist with patient handling as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Certification by NBCOT and current licensure in the applicable state.
  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
  • Preferred one year of experience in post-acute or related care settings.
  • CPR certification, maintained current during employment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
  • Strong interpersonal, judgment, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to perform patient lifting, positioning, and mobility tasks.
