Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Licensed Occupational Therapist Assistant to support an occupational therapist in delivering therapy services and enabling activities of daily living for patients.

You will implement selected components of the plan of care, adjust interventions based on patient feedback, and assist with discharge planning to ensure safe, effective progress throughout treatment and collaboration with supervising staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapist assistant program.
• Current State Board of Occupational Therapist Assistant licensure.
• BLS certification.
• One year of occupational therapist assistant experience preferred.

• Implements the individualized plan of care as established by the occupational therapist.
• Adjusts treatment interventions in response to patient feedback, objective data and observation within the established plan of care. Identifies need for changes in plan of care and communicates with supervising occupational therapist.

Position Summary

Works under the direction and supervision of the occupational therapist. The occupational therapist assistant implements selected components of the therapeutic interventions and activities of daily living, obtains data related to the interventions provided, and makes modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient as directed by the occupational therapist or to ensure patient’s safety and comfort. This may include adaptation or modification of the environment or objects within the environment to facilitate engagement and participation.
