Job summary

Medical City Plano, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an Occupational Therapist for Acute PRN opportunities to support patient care across our campus.

In this role you will evaluate patients, develop individualized plans, deliver hands-on therapy, monitor progress, educate families, and collaborate with physicians and the care team. This PRN position offers access to advanced resources and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in OT or related field required.
• OTR eligibility or active OT license required.
• ACUTE care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' functional abilities and develop individualized therapy plans with the care team.
• Deliver evidence-based OT interventions to promote independence and quality of life.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans to reflect outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on recovery and home programs.
• Collaborate with physicians and therapists to ensure seamless transitions of care.
• Lead and mentor therapy assistants and students per department guidelines.

Your role will include:

• Evaluatingeach patient's functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
• Deliveringskilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care.
• Monitoringpatient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough,timelydocumentation that reflects quality outcomes.
• Educatingpatients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
• Collaboratingwith interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
• Leadingby example-providing guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare's mission, values, and commitment to excellence.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Bachelors Degree
• (OTR) Occupational Therapist Registered, or (OT) Occupational Therapist
• At least 1 year of acute experience
