Job summary

Inspire Neurocare in Worcester is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to deliver OT services to residents and clients. You will provide leadership in OT in line with professional codes and monitor residents’ physical and psychological needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Occupational Therapy services to all Residents and clients.
• Provide leadership in OT in accordance with College of Occupational Therapy codes.
• Monitor and assess residents’ physical and psychological needs.
• Maintain concise records and reports for case reviews.
• Assess daily living skills to identify functional ability, risks and support needed.
• Liaise with outside organisations for equipment provision and ensure equipment cleanliness.
• Promote personal and social skills and liaise with relatives and carers with empathy.

What You'll Be Doing

• In liaison with the Therapy Lead, be responsible for the delivery of Occupational Therapy services to all Residents and clients.
• provide leadership in all aspects of Occupational Therapy in accordance with the Codes of Practice of the College of Occupational Therapy.
• provide ongoing monitoring, support and assessment of residents’ physical and psychological needs.
• maintain concise records and provide reports as necessary for each resident’s case review.
• undertake assessments of daily living skills to identify level of functional ability, risks and level of support needed.
• To liaise with appropriate outside organisations for equipment provision e.g. wheelchair services and ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all Occupational Therapy equipment.
• Promote personal and social skills and leisure activities for all residents and liaise with relatives and carers with empathy giving information, support and advice whenever and as often as required.

• A qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration.
• Two years’ experience working as an Occupational Therapist
• Previous experience working within a neuro environment .
• Commitment to make a real difference to the lives of our patients.
• Have excellent communications skills, a great attitude to teamwork and a desire to lead on patient care.
• Flexible to work shifts.
