Job summary

Lad Lake, INC seeks an Occupational Therapist to join our team in Milwaukee, WI. This part-time role serves children and families within an integrative care model, designing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans.

The ideal candidate holds a Wisconsin OT license, NBCOT certification, and has experience with pediatric populations. Travel and some evening hours are required, with competitive hourly pay and benefits provided.

Qualifications

  • Current Occupational Therapy license in Wisconsin.
  • NBCOT certification required for licensure.
  • Knowledge of child/adolescent development and OT best practices.
  • Ability to work with children, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible schedule with travel and some evening hours.

Responsibilities

  • Assess family and child treatment needs using formal and informal assessments.
  • Meet with clients weekly or as identified by client, family, and/or team.
  • Provide occupational therapy to individuals, groups, and/or families per treatment plan.
  • Advocate for the family with psychoeducation and collaboration.
  • Respond to crises quickly and effectively.
  • Document clinical activities and progress in a timely, thorough, and clearly written manner.
  • Present cases in court, staff, and other meetings as necessary.
  • Communicate information about the family to team members and consultants.
  • Complete initial assessment, treatment plans, and discharge summaries promptly.
  • Maintain knowledge of community resources and access them when necessary.
  • Willingness to travel and some evening hours required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

JOB SUMMARY

Act as a member of an integrative team to provide occupational therapy services for each child and/or their family, by designing and implementing a comprehensive treatment plan to help meet their treatment goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assess family and child's treatment needs utilizing formal and informal/functional assessments.
  • Meeting with clients every week or as identified by client, family, and/or team.
  • Provides occupational therapy to individuals, groups, and/or families at a frequency consistent with the treatment plan.
  • Acts as an advocate for the family providing psychoeducation and collaboration.
  • Quickly and effectively responds to crisis.
  • Documents clinical activities and case progress in a timely, thorough, and clearly written manner.
  • Effectively presents cases in court, staff, and other meetings as necessary.
  • Effectively communicates clinical and other information about the family to team members, purchasers, and consultants.
  • Completes initial assessment, initial treatment plan, ongoing treatment plans, and discharge summaries promptly that clearly describe the course of treatment.
  • Maintains knowledge of community resources and can access them when necessary.
  • Willingness to travel and some evening hours required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education/Training: Current Occupational Therapy License through Wisconsin DSPS; Certification by NBCOT (required for licensure).

Skills: Demonstrable knowledge of normal and pathological child and adolescent development behavior. Demonstrable knowledge of OT evidence-based and current best practice. A proven ability to work with children and adolescents and their families. A demonstrable ability to guide and direct the treatment efforts of a multidisciplinary team toward a common treatment goal. Ability to manage a flexible schedule. Willingness to travel and some evening hours required.
