Job summary

RISE DC in Washington, DC is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist/Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide comprehensive OT/OTA services in a young adult therapeutic day program. The role includes evaluations, treatment planning, and support across fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills.

Licensure in DC is required, with preference for MD/VA licenses. Experience with pediatric clients and CPR/First Aid is valued; telehealth may be used as appropriate to support

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved OT/OTA program with ability to provide all duties of a Occupational Therapist/Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Licenses to practice in DC required and preference to those also licensed in MD and/or VA
• 1 year experience working with pediatric clients
• CPR/First Aid preferred
• Desire to deliver quality therapy in all client care situations
• Commitment to adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and ethical standards of practice

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy evaluations, treatment planning, and intervention services within scope of practice
• Support development of fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, executive functioning, self-care, social participation, vocational, and community living skills
• Implement individualized treatment plans and therapeutic activities
• Assist participants with increasing independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
• Utilize sensory regulation and behavioral support strategies during sessions
• Support use of adaptive equipment, AAC devices, visual supports, and environmental modifications as appropriate
• Complete treatment documentation, progress notes, reports, and data collection in a timely manner
• Collaborate with speech therapists, physical therapists, direct support professionals, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Provide caregiver and staff education regarding therapeutic strategies and participant support needs
• Participate in community-based and vocational programming as needed
