Job summary

Achieve Beyond in Suffolk, NY is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to serve children birth to 21 in diverse settings including homes, preschools, clinics, and community locations.

You will collaborate with families, educate caregivers on intervention strategies, follow tailored therapy plans, and document progress while maintaining HIPAA compliance. The role requires travel across Nassau and Suffolk counties with flexible scheduling and supportive supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be NYS Licensed Occupational Therapist.
• 1–2 years of experience with children birth–5 preferred.
• Passion for working with children and families.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric therapy services and evaluations for children birth–21 in homes, daycares, clinics, and community settings.
• Educate families and caregivers on intervention strategies to promote carryover.

Job Responsibilities For a Occupational Therapist

• Provide pediatric therapy services and/or evaluations to children aged birth 21 years in a natural setting.
• Educate families and caregivers on applicable intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as client homes, daycare homes/centers, preschools, clinics, and other community settings.
• Follow the unique therapy plan established for a family/child, plan for ongoing treatment and address identified goals while documenting progress.
• Prepare progress reports as indicated.
• Maintain child records and confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA, state and federal regulations). Required records must be submitted within the established timelines.

Requirements For a Occupational Therapist

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• NYS Licensed Occupational Therapist
• 1-2 years of experience working with children birth5 is preferred but not necessary
• Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to:
• Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

Starting Rate

Evaluations $130.00 - $250.00/ hourly$60.00-$70.00

Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during the Occupational Therapist Job interview process.
