Job summary

The Healthcare Resort of Topeka is seeking a dedicated Full Time Occupational Therapist to join our in-house rehab program. You will conduct screenings, develop care plans, and deliver rehabilitative treatments for geriatric patients in a post-acute setting.

As part of a stable in-house therapy team, you’ll support discharge planning, collaborate with families and caregivers, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while promoting CAPLICO values.

Qualifications

• OT license required.
• Open to OTs at all experience levels. New grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate patients with physical functioning disorders; develop care plans.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions.
• Assist with standing, walking, lifting, and transferring patients and equipment as needed.
• Administer rehabilitation procedures including manual techniques, ambulation, exercises, modalities and wound care.
• Provide counseling to patients, families, and other providers regarding physical disorders.
• Generate discharge summaries ensuring regulatory and clinical compliance.

The Healthcare Resort of Topeka is a post-acute care facility with long-term care, short-term care, and geriatric services provided. We can offer a stable and fun in-house therapy team to work with as well as excellent programs serving our geriatric clientele in their journey to recovery. We are currently seeking a dedicated Full Time Occupational Therapist for our in-house rehab program!

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct effective screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, developing appropriate care plans adhering to regulatory and clinical standards.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• The role involves regular standing and walking throughout the facility and occasional lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and equipment. Physical demands vary throughout the day based on patient care needs.
• Administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, use of supportive and assistive devices, and wound care.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical disorders.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.

Qualifications

• Occupational Therapist license is required.
