Job summary

Inland Northwest Behavioral Health in Spokane, WA is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to support patients in achieving independence in daily living. The OT will evaluate needs, develop interventions, and conduct individual and group sessions in collaboration with the Activities Therapy team.

Qualifications

  • OT degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate) from an accredited program.
  • WA OT license or ability to obtain prior to hire and CPR certification or ability to obtain.
  • Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric services, rehabilitation, or related clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized occupational therapy interventions.
  • Plan and facilitate therapeutic groups and activities that support treatment goals.
  • Develop age-appropriate programming for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, recreation therapists, and other members of the treatment team.
  • Document patient participation, progress, and treatment outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and team members regarding therapeutic interventions.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment and respond appropriately during crisis situations.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and departmental quality programs.
  • Support the orientation of new staff and provide guidance to occupational therapy students and interns as assigned.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Occupational Therapist (OT) supports patients in achieving their highest level of functional independence. Responsibilities include evaluating needs related to activities of daily living, ADA accommodations, cognitive and sensory challenges, and other barriers to optimal functioning. The OT develops targeted interventions, contributes to treatment planning, and facilitates individual and group sessions focused on independent living skills in collaboration with the Activities Therapy team.

Part‑Time up to 20 hours per week w/benefits
Education
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Licensure/Certification
  • Current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Washington (or ability to obtain prior to hire).
  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
Experience
  • Previous experience in behavioral health, psychiatric services, rehabilitation, or related clinical setting preferred.
  • Experience facilitating therapeutic groups and activities preferred.
