Please click here to learn more about our locations.**Job Description**The Occupational Therapist provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transition of care, in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral. Our top healthcare professionals excel in their practices and provide compassionate, family-centered care to children who need it most. **Key Responsibilities:*** The Occupational Therapist position provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transition of care, in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral.* Provides comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care, a commitment to the achievement of optimal patient outcomes in alignment with the standards of practice of their professional organization.* Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the pediatric patients and their family.* Functions as a team member and develops leadership skills through activities such as: mentoring, and providing education to students and other professionals.* Supports the ongoing development and improvement of the department through participation in special projects, performance improvement and facility committees.* Responsible for professional growth and development through ongoing education and research in alignment with hospital’s patient care and strategic direction.* Responsible for maintaining current knowledge in changes related to scope of practice, coding/billing practices, compliant documentation and any other knowledge related to the compliant practice in a revenue cycle environment.* In cooperation with other local leaders, offers exceptional care following the Shriners Hospitals for Children FOCUSEDTM Program, a system-wide model for professional practice that stresses and emphasizes patient-centered care, or always putting the needs of the patients (and their families first).**Required Qualifications**:* Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy.* OT licensed in state of practice* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification**Preferred Qualifications:*** 1 year occupational therapy experience; new graduates considered* Pediatric experienceCompensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
