Job summary

Reliant Management is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate, plan, and implement treatment programs for patients of all ages. The role focuses on developing, recovering, or maintaining daily living and work skills to promote independent functioning, with collaboration across patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

This full-time position (also PRN) in California requires licensure, OT degree, HIPAA experience, strong communication, and leadership.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Modify the treatment plan according to patient responses.
  • Provide treatment per established standards of practice.
  • Document all care and submit required paperwork daily.
  • Evaluate and treat populations with complex therapy needs.
  • Support patients to progress toward agreed goals.
  • Assist with quality assurance program as required.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory education and competence programs.
  • Maintain professional relationships with associates and vendors.
  • Communicate with supervisor and team regarding progress, barriers, and plans.
  • Communicate with medical staff, nursing, and department supervisors.
  • Screen patients based on state Practice Act.
  • Recommend adaptive devices or equipment.
  • Remain knowledgeable of state practice acts and supervision for OTAs.
  • Assist with cleaning maintenance of treatment area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

Job description

Summary: The Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans, and implements treatment programs to help patients of all ages develop, recover, or maintain the daily living and work skills needed for independent functioning. The OT works collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to establish meaningful and functional goals.

Hiring for Full Time and PRN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Modify the treatment plan according to the patient's responses.

  • Provide treatment in accordance with established standards of practice.

  • Document all care, submit required paperwork daily.

  • Evaluate and treat patient populations including those with complex therapy needs.

  • Support patients to help them progress towards the goals agreed upon with the occupational therapist.

  • Assist with and participate in quality assurance program as required.

  • Ensure compliance with all community mandatory education, training, and competence programs.

  • Maintain professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.

  • Communicate with supervisor and other team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and plans.

  • Communicate with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department supervisors.

  • Screen patients based upon identified need per State Practice Act.

  • Recommend adaptive devices or other equipment.

  • Remain knowledgeable of state practice acts and ensure the level of supervision for Occupational Therapy Assistants meets standards.

  • Assist with cleaning maintenance of treatment area and department.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager

Education and Work Experience
  • BS or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.

  • Experience with HIPAA protocol and procedures.

  • Able to assist patient with problem-solving using a positive attitude and adaptability.

  • Demonstrated sound decision making and leadership skills.

  • Can utilize critical thinking during exercises and interaction with patients or clients.

  • Will consult with patient or client and document progress in a collaborative and open style.

  • Demonstrated capability with inspiring a variety of patients and clients.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Current Occupational Therapy license for state of operation.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.

  • Must be detail oriented and comfortable working in fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

  • Teamwork collaboration is essential to the organization, so it is critical that the manager communicates and interacts well with other team members and is able to build positive relationships across all levels within the organization.

  • Provide annual verification of negative TB skin test.

Essential Job Functions — Physical & Work Conditions

- Physical demands: frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting. Regular reaching
(including overhead), handling/fingering, feeling, talking/hearing, and seeing. Occasional
stooping, crouching, climbing stairs, balancing, and twisting; kneeling and crawling are
not typically required.
- Patient care and equipment handling: ability to assist with mobility and handle clinic
equipment of approximately 20 lbs (pulling, lifting, carrying, pushing). Assistive devices
and team support are available per protocol.
- Work environment: primarily an indoor clinical setting; occasional travel up to ~5%.
- Environmental factors: typical clinic conditions; no routine exposure to extreme
temperatures, wet/humid environments, fumes, poor ventilation, dusts, gases,
unprotected heights, or moving machinery. Occasional operation of automotive
equipment and use of foot controls may be required. Standard protective equipment
(e.g., gowns, masks, gloves) used per policy.
- Work situations: role involves measurable goals, frequent interaction with patients and
teams, repetitive/continuous tasks, problemsolving, following instructions, and
performing under routine clinical demands
