Job summary

Physical Rehabilitation Network (PRN) is seeking an Occupational Therapist focused on hand therapy/upper extremity at our San Diego–area outpatient clinics. New graduates are welcome; part-time or full-time schedules available, with competitive compensation and incentives.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Previous experience in a clinical or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, critical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine patients' functional abilities, limitations, and goals.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic care.
  • Administer occupational therapy treatments including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, ADL training, and adaptive equipment provision based on individual needs of each patient.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, home exercises, and adaptive strategies to maximize independence.
  • Regularly reassess patients' progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, progress reports, and treatment plans according to regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation team members, to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Adhere to ethical, legal, and professional standards, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Meet the needs of having patient execute Plan of Care including but not limited to following up with patients if noncompliance occurs.
  • Be a team player to utilize nonclinical staff to support needs of the caseload (IE play nice with aides and PSRs that help support the staff).
  • Delegate to COTA when applicable
  • Drive a collaborative culture based on our service vision
  • Adapt to change in patient schedules and daily patterns
  • Keep updated on advancements in occupational therapy techniques, technologies, and best practices, integrating them into clinical practice as appropriate

About the Role
