Job summary

SportsMed Physical Therapy in New Jersey is seeking a part-time or per-diem Occupational Therapist to cover the Hudson County region, with full-time opportunities available in Jersey City and West New York. You will handle hand therapy cases, conduct evaluations, educate patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to restore function.

The role requires a New Jersey OT license, and welcomes both new grads and experienced therapists.

Qualifications

  • New Jersey Occupational Therapy License is required.
  • New grads welcome; both new and experienced therapists considered.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy required.

Responsibilities

  • Treat hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder injuries and post‑op cases.
  • Perform initial evaluations, set recovery goals, and develop plans of care.
  • Document evaluations and treatments accurately.
  • Educate patients and involved parties on evaluations and treatment plans.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients and SportsMed providers.

SportsMed Physical Therapy is seeking a part-time or per-diem Occupational Therapist to handle coverage needs in the Hudson County region. We also have full-time opportunities with benefits available in both Jersey City and West New York.

SportsMed is fortunate to be one of the fastest growing multidisciplinary practices in New Jersey. The services we offer our patients are: Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, Occupational Hand Therapy, & Acupuncture. We treat a diverse variety of patients that includes sports-related injuries, weekend warriors, post-surgical, elderly, desk workers, and much more.

The Occupational Therapist organizes and conducts occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation. This person directs patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. The Occupational Therapist facilitates the learning of those skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, in order to diminish or correct pathology.

  • Educate patients and appropriate parties on evaluations and treatment plans
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, SportsMed providers, and other team members.
Requirements
  • New Jersey Occupational Therapy License

$45 - $55 an hour
