Job summary

Golfcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation in Houston seeks an Occupational Therapist to provide rehabilitative services to short-term and long-term residents. The role emphasizes efficient patient care within a smaller daily case load and a family-like atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative and skilled therapy maintenance services to residents with mental, physical, psychosocial, or developmental impairments.
• Maintain productivity/efficiency as directed by Rehab Director or Administrator.
• Record accurate and timely OT progress notes and daily records per guidelines.
• Record billing information for occupational therapy services rendered.
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following facility procedures.
• Assist in equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Adhere to professional standards, policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Seek opportunities to enhance therapy practice and patient care.

This position is at a skilled nursing facility in Houston that serves both short-term and long-term patients. Golfcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation is under new ownership and has an in-house therapy team with smaller daily case loads with an emphasis on optimizing time with patients.

Occupational Therapist's Job Responsibilities:

• Helps residents by providing rehabilitative and skilled therapy maintenance services to persons with mental, physical, psychosocial, or developmental impairments.

• Maintains expected productivity/efficiency set by the Director of Rehab or Administrator.

• Maintains accurate and timely patients' occupational therapy records by recording resident’s progress and daily notes under federal, state, and insurance guidelines.

• Records accurate billing information of occupational therapy services rendered.

• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following facility guidelines and procedures.

• Helps keep therapy equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs as needed.

• Serves and protects occupational therapy practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.

• Enhances occupational therapy practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
