Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist (OTR) to evaluate, treat, educate, and plan therapy for patients with physical injury or disability, including cognitive and psychosocial conditions. Some travel between facilities may be required.

Texas licensure as an OT, graduation from an accredited OT program, and current BLS certification are required; clinical experience is preferred and full utilization of therapy modalities is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist in Texas.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy degree program.
• Clinical experience preferred.
• Must have and maintain current BLS certification per unit needs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with physical injury or illness, cognitive or psychosocial conditions.
• Educate patients and families on therapy plans and progress.
• Develop and implement occupational therapy treatment plans and modalities.
• Coordinate care and travel between facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Staff Occupational Therapist (OTR) is responsible for evaluation/assessment, treatment, education, planning, utilization of exercises including administering occupational therapy modalities, treatment, and rehabilitative procedures for individuals limited by physical injury or illness, a dysfunctional condition, cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction, mental illness, a developmental or learning disability whether due to trauma, illness, or condition present at birth. Some travel may be required in the provision of services between facilities and job functions. This position summary contains the most relevant duties, responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required to travel as needed.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

Licensure in the State of Texas as Occupational Therapist.

Graduate of an accredited Degree program in Occupational Therapy.

Clinical experience preferred.

Must have and maintain current BLS certification, according to unit specific needs. Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider’s Program.
