Job summary

Universal Health Services in Texas seeks a Staff Occupational Therapist to evaluate, treat, educate, and plan rehabilitation for patients with physical, cognitive, or psychosocial conditions. The role may require travel between facilities to deliver care and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Applicants must hold Texas licensure as an OT, have graduated from an accredited OT program, and maintain BLS certification per AHA guidelines. Clinical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Degree program in Occupational Therapy.
  • Clinical experience preferred.
  • Must have and maintain current BLS certification, according to unit specific needs. Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider’s Program.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation/assessment, treatment, education, planning, and rehabilitation for individuals limited by physical injury or illness, cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction, mental illness, or developmental/learning disabilities.
  • Administer occupational therapy modalities and therapeutic exercises as part of rehabilitative procedures.
  • Travel as needed to provide services between facilities and job functions.

Education

Licensure in the State of Texas as Occupational Therapist
Graduate of an accredited Degree program in Occupational Therapy
Clinical experience preferred
Current BLS certification (AHA Healthcare Provider program)

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Staff Occupational Therapist (OTR) is responsible for evaluation/assessment, treatment, education, planning, utilization of exercises including administering occupational therapy modalities, treatment, and rehabilitative procedures for individuals limited by physical injury or illness, a dysfunctional condition, cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction, mental illness, a developmental or learning disability whether due to trauma, illness, or condition present at birth. Some travel may be required in the provision of services between facilities and job functions. This position summary contains the most relevant duties, responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned.
