Job summary

SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking Occupational Therapists to join the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. OT will evaluate patients, set goals, and develop treatment plans across acute, inpatient, and outpatient settings.

Candidates must hold NYS OT license/registration, have a degree for licensure, and at least two years of experience; entry-level SL2 will be considered with licensure within a year. CPR-BLS is required at appointment.

SUNY Upstate Medical University is currently accepting applications for Occupational Therapist opportunities in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation - Rehab Therapies. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating patients, formulating specific treatment goals, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with other health care providers and families. Prepare and maintain patient care documentation in a timely manner. Attend designated clinics, rounds, and conferences. Participate in educational programs for staff, students, volunteers, and other professional health care personnel. Participate in training for new staff. Serve as a clinical instructor for students. Facilitate new program development.

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation offers opportunities across a variety of practice settings, including: Acute Care, Inpatient Rehabilitation and Outpatient Rehabilitation. Patient populations may include individuals with neurologic, orthopedic, hand and upper extremity, and complex medical rehabilitation needs.Patient populations include adult and pediatric, depending on departmental and clinical service needs.
