Job summary

Community Counseling of Bristol County (CCBC) seeks an Occupational Therapist to join the PACT-Y program, supporting youth in recovery with individual and family therapy, case management, and related services. The OT will screen, assess, and implement interventions alongside a multidisciplinary team, guiding youth toward stabilization and growth.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Experience with children, youth and families; pediatric mental health preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Screen, assess and provide therapeutic interventions to youth with mental health challenges and their families.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to inform treatment planning.
  • Maintain professional documentation of screenings and evaluations.
  • Attend treatment planning meetings in home, community and office settings.
  • Review treatment progress and modify intervention programs.
  • Develop individualized sensory interventions to support mental health and family functioning.
  • Supervise and train the Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Description of Position

We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support youth in their recovery goals. PACT-Y provides individual therapy, family therapy, case management, nursing, psychiatry, mentoring and OT to youth experiencing significant mental health challenges. As a member of the PACT-Y team, you will use a person-centered approach to enhance family functioning, promote stabilization, and encourage growth and resilience as youth make the transition into adulthood. The OT will provide screening and assessment for youth enrolled in the program. The OT will implement interventions and supervise the Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Screen, assess and provide therapeutic interventions to youth with significant mental health challenges and their families
  • Work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to provide education and recommendations for treatment planning
  • Maintain professional documentation of screenings and evaluations
  • Attend treatment planning meetings in the home, community and office
  • Review treatment progress, outcomes and modify intervention programs
  • Develop individualized sensory interventions to support mental health and family functioning
  • Identify occupational performance needs in the areas of sensory processing, organizational skills, fine/gross motor skills, recreation skills, and social thinking skills as well as community and work skills
  • Provide supervision and training to the Occupational Therapist Assistant
Requirements
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an Occupational Therapy program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Hold appropriate license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professionals as an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience working with children, youth and families preferred
  • Experience working with youth with mental health challenges preferred
