Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks an Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence and quality of life, serving the Minot area. You will assess diverse patients, develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

You will be expected to document thoroughly, maintain organization, and provide motivating care to a high volume of patients, adapting to various conditions and responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an OT curriculum accredited by AMA/AOTA.
  • Home health experience preferred.
  • ND licensure and CPR/BLS.
  • ND driver license and auto insurance where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' functional status and home environment to plan care.
  • Develop treatment plans and set goals for improved function.
  • Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations; communicate plan of care to referrers.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and document thoroughly.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities. This position will serve the Minot area.

Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re-evaluations. You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients.

To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, adaptable, exceptionally organized, and a personable, motivating team player.

  • Evaluate patient’s functional status (muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self-care ability, work capacity, etc.) and also evaluate home environment for hazards or barriers to more independent living, identifies equipment needs and participates in the development of the total plan of care
  • For patients who plan to return to work, the occupational therapist may perform work capacity evaluation and may refer to specialized vocational training in accordance with Organization policy
  • Develops treatment program and establishes goals for improved function. Communicates plan of care to referring physician and other Organization professionals
  • May teach new skills or retrain patient in once familiar daily activities that have been lost due to illness or injury, in accordance with Organization policy
  • May fabricate splints and instruct patient in the use of various types of adaptive equipment to improve function
  • May train patient in the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices
Job Requirements
  • Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Home health experience

  • Basic Life Support - CPR
  • Driver's License: ND

$35.53 - $52.85 /hour
