Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria, Oregon is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate, treat, reassess, and document care for both inpatients and outpatients. The role includes supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides and coordinating activities for the CMH Transitional Care Program.
Occassionally, home visits may be performed as needed to support patient progress and discharge planning.
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluation, treatment, reassessment, and documentation of inpatients and outpatients. The Occupational Therapist also acts as the Activities Coordinator for the CMH Transitional Care Program. Volume in each setting depends on patient census. Occupational Therapists are also responsible for supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides. May perform home visits as needed.
Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to: Ability to exercise professional judgment and initiative when analyzing problems and recommending solutions. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to react effectively to the needs of patients and families.
Must have a valid state license or valid temporary permit as an Occupational Therapist, issued by the Oregon State Occupational Therapy Licensing Board. Current BLS certification required through American Heart Association. Current Food Handlers Certificate or able to obtain within thirty (30) days of hire.
The Occupational Therapist must have successfully completed a program culminating with a BA/BS degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school.
