University of Michigan seeks an Occupational Therapist to join the Kellogg Eye Center, providing OT support in Low Vision and Brain Injury Rehab clinics. Required qualifications include OT master’s or doctorate, Michigan registration, NBCOT, and internship completion.

Provide OT support to the Low Vision and Brain Injury Rehab clinic within Kellogg Eye Center.
- Evaluate, plan, and implement specialized care program to help patients restore or maximize functional independence in outpatient Low Vision and Brain Injury Rehab clinics.
- Assess physical, cognitive, and daily living abilities through direct observation and testing.
- Build individualized treatment goals based on patient needs and personal objectives.
- Guide patients through exercises, manual arts, and functional training to improve mobility.
- Utilize occupational therapy media, including creative and manual arts, recreational, educational, and social activities, and training in everyday activities.
- Teach safety techniques to patients and their caregivers.
- Work closely with physicians and technicians.
- Ordering custom devices such as bioptic telescopes.
- Patient home visits
- Record detailed clinical notes and prepare updates on patient progress.
- Inbasket management including timely responses to other care providers, patients, and departments.
- Research experience
- Vision Rehabilitation training
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and adapt to changing work situations are required
