Amentum seeks an Occupational Safety & Health Nurse to support the SOS Contract in Pittsburgh, PA. In a small team, you will perform occupational health evaluations, phlebotomy, immunizations, PFTs, EKGs, audiograms, and related tests, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.

You will document visits, manage workers’ compensation cases, and participate in training and wellness initiatives while collaborating with the DOE and site leadership; strong credentials and 5–10 years RN

• Minimum of 5–10 years as a Registered Nurse in a medical facility
• BSN with current PA or WV state RN licensure
• BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Perform occupational and non-occupational patient evaluation and care, including screening tests
• Ensure testing and documentation comply with laws, regulations, and policies
• Document visits and treatment in medical records and databases
• Provide phlebotomy, immunizations, and admin of medications when directed
• Conduct health program referrals, surveillance, and emergency response support

We are currently seeking a Occupational Safety & Health Nurse to support our SOS Contract in Pittsburgh PA.

Job Description:

In a small team environment, the nurse assists in the day-to‑day operations of the Occupational Health Unit (OHU), including but not limited to:

• Occupational and non-occupational patient evaluation and care, performing screening occupational health tests listed below, and evaluating test results.
• Ensures testing performance is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, plans, policies and procedures.
• Ensures medical testing results are entered into the medical database as well as providing hard copy results to employees as requested by DOE and the employee after the doctor reviews results.
• Assists in assessment of programs in terms of regulatory compliance and best medical practices.
• Preparing reports as requested, make recommendations for improvements. Keeps abreast of current developments in occupational health issues and associated laws and regulations.
• Under physician direction, provides phlebotomy services, administers immunizations and over the counter medications, performs testing such as vision testing, pulmonary function (PFT/spirometry), EKG, UA by dipstick and audiograms when needed for clearances.
• In a team effort, determines employees needing entry into various health programs (hearing, respirator, medical surveillance, etc).
• Document employee visits, injuries, illnesses and treatment administered by first aid and/or medical referral necessary in the medical record and database.
• Ensures that testing is performed correctly, and results appropriately documented, reports injuries as required by the company, State and Federal regulations.
• Manages workers’ compensation cases and maintains workers’ compensation case files as appropriate and in accordance with the pertinent laws and regulations. Participates in, conducts and documents periodic health inspections.
• Ensures that appropriate information is provided to the employer/supervisor about medical restrictions without violating employee privacy/Health Information Portability and Privacy Act (HIPPA) requirements.
• Refers employees for ergonomic evaluations, participates in emergency response drills and ensures the quality of program response.
• Participates in employee training; CPR/AED/FA training as appropriate.
• Provides consultations, wellness education, site tours and referrals and performs any milestones as requested by DOE.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen
• Minimum of 5-10 years as a Registered Nurse in a medical facility. Must have and maintain all credentialing and state licensure requirements.
• Bachelor of Science, Nursing (BSN) with current WV or PA state RN licensure required,
• BLS certification required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Occupational Health experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Workers' Compensation program case management preferred.
• Dual licensure in WV and PA a plus.,
• ACLS and AHA BLS instructor a plus,
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Certified Occupational Health Nurse-Specialist (COHN-S) desired.

Compensation Details:

Starting at $32.26+
