Occupational Medicine Clinical Consultant

Location: US-WA-Seattle

The Concentra Clinical Learning Consultant is responsible for coordinating and integrating the operational and administrative components of consulting employer's occupational health and injury care programs in accordance with mutually agreed upon policies, procedures, and practices to achieve optimal clinical and financial outcomes. This role is helps facilitate patient care by assessing case progression, evaluating treatment options, creating treatment plans, coordinating care, and gauging progress with an overall goal to improve clinical outcomes, increase patient satisfaction, and promote cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and advise on clinical, operational and administrative activities of the consulting employer's occupational health programs
  • Provide training for clinicians and operations staff at the local level
  • Point of contact for the guidance and resolution of all escalated issues
  • Annual update of all tool kit training materials for consulting employers
  • Provide analyses and identify areas for improvement
  • Create and track employer concerns while monitoring action and determining root causes
  • Drive consistency across all Medical Centers by endorsing mutual understanding and use of Concentra's medical model while utilizing the data and tools available from both Concentra and consulting employers
  • Partner with Concentra's centers and the consulting employers, providing strong communication channels to achieve consistency and outcomes that are representative of Best In Class care
  • Monitor and track patient compliance, including attendance at appointments, therapy adherence, and provider instructions; elevate issues proactively
  • Coordinate and expedite referrals/authorizations to minimize delays between appointments and specialist care
  • Identify and resolve process gaps in care coordination and claims management that contribute to extended case durations
  • Identify best practices for Case Reviews and implement adoption of these practices in all markets
Qualifications
  • Active state nursing license as registered nurse.
  • Bachelor's degree and certification in occupational health nursing or case management preferred
  • Basic understanding of federal and state regulations applicable to occupational and environmental health and safety
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in occupational health, preferably in a manufacturing environment, distribution facility, or any equivalent or relevant combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
