Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an Occupational Health Technician to perform drug and alcohol testing and on-site services. You will prepare patients, maintain records, and ensure clean examination spaces in a high-volume setting.

The role requires BLS, potential TSA-related qualifications, and experience in drug testing. English-Spanish skills and ability to work under pressure are preferred in this diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• DATIA Certified Professional Collector, and Lifeloc Certified Breath Alcohol Technician or certification within 12 months.
• Two or more years' experience in Drug testing or as a medical technician.
• Preferred knowledge of Occupational Health or related field.
• High School or equivalent.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide drug and alcohol testing and ancillary services.
• Perform Drug Screens in clinic and on-site settings.
• Perform Breath and Alcohol Tests in clinic and on-site settings.
• Demonstrate competency in department-specific technical skills.
• Maintain required certification.

• Maintain inventory of supplies.
• Prepare and maintain accurate medical records.
• Provide care appropriate to the population served.

How you'll contribute

An Occupational Health Technician who excels in this role:

• Is responsible for providing drug and alcohol testing and other ancillary services.
• Perform Drug Screens both in clinic and on-site settings.
• Perform Breath and Alcohol Test in clinic and on-site settings.

What we're looking for

The Occupational Health Technician must become a TSA agent to support the Transportation Workers Identification Card, (TWIC) Federal office as well as process and collect information for the Federal Government enrollment process. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• DATIA Certified Professional Collector, and Lifeloc Certified Breath Alcohol Technician or certified in twelve (12) months after hire date.
• Two (2) or more years' experience in Drug testing or as a medical technician desired, knowledge of drug screening rules and regulations desirable.
• Preferred knowledge of Occupation Health or related field.
• High School or equivalent required.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred. Ability to work with culturally diverse population.
