Job summary

Piedmont Airlines is seeking an Operations Control Center (OCC) Planning Manager to oversee day-to-day dispatch operations and performance. This role requires a valid FAA Dispatch Certificate and extensive Part 121 OCC experience, reporting to the Director, Operations Control Center.

Responsibilities include leading dispatch staff, ensuring staffing and scheduling, and maintaining regulatory compliance. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of airline management experience.
• Valid FAA dispatch certificate.
• Comprehensive knowledge of civil aviation regulations, standards, and practices.
• Ability to demonstrate strong leadership, strategic vision, and managerial competence.
• Natural teamwork skills with demonstrated experience leading people.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and ensure others do the same.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the dispatchers' day-to-day flight operations and performance.
• Provide leadership over Dispatchers, Supervisors, and Coordinators.
• Ensure dispatcher staffing and scheduling adequacy.
• Administer dispatcher time-off, vacation, and pay.
• Communicate operational issues to Piedmont leadership and AA as needed.
• Ensure rest requirements and regulatory compliance for dispatchers.
• Provide resources to dispatchers to perform duties in line with policies.
• Lead safety management activities per SMS principles.
• Assist OCC management in planning responses to Irregular Operations.
• On-call as required.
