Responsibilities

• Recruit kettle workers and obtain required documentation.
• Schedule bell ringers at approved locations.
• Coordinate kettle pickup routes for drivers.
• Review daily income reports and use bell ringers effectively.
• Coordinate with volunteers and community groups to schedule sign ups.
• Work with Finance staff on counting, reporting, and banking.
• Ensure kettle income is recorded in the Kettle Program software.
• Pick up kettles and Christmas toys as needed.
• Secure equipment at season end and send thank you letters.
• Prepare a brief for future program use.
• Conduct daily site visits to oversee bell ringers.
• Coordinate collection and transportation of kettles.
• Provide logistical support for Christmas events at the Tustin Ranch Corps.
• Assist with Toy Distribution Program procurement and distribution.
• Support registration and intake for families in the Toy Distribution Program.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Kettle Coordinator is to support the Corps Officer during the kettle season with various kettle actives.

Essential Functions

• Recruit kettle workers and ensure proper documentation is completed and submitted to HR for approval.
• Schedule bell ringers at approved locations.
• Coordinate timely kettle pick-up routes for drivers and ensure kettles are safely at designated location.
• Review kettle daily income reports throughout the season to use bell ringers successfully.
• Coordinate with volunteers, Tustin Ranch corps members, advisory board members, women's auxiliary, rotary clubs, and other community groups to schedule volunteer day sign ups.
• Work with the Orange County Command Finance staff on the counting, reporting and banking of money raised through the program.
• Ensure kettle income is recorded accurately and properly in the Kettle Program software.
• Pick up kettles and Christmas toys as needed.
• At the end of the season (November-December) make sure that all kettle equipment is secure in storage and send thank you letters to those who have allowed the Army to place kettles at their locations.
• Prepare a brief that outlines every detail of the program for future use and review.
• Conduct daily site visits to oversee and support bell ringers at assigned kettle locations.
• Coordinate the collection and transportation of kettles from designated fundraising sites.
• Provide logistical and operational support for Christmas and seasonal events at the Tustin Ranch Corps.
• Assist with the procurement, organization, and distribution of toys for the annual Toy Distribution Program.
• Support the registration and intake process for families participating in the Toy Distribution Program.
• Perform other assignments/duties as directed.

Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 21 years old
• Driving Test and clean MVR check
• If working in vicinity of children a criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.
• Valid California driver's license, auto insurance and personal transportation
• Attention to detail, quality and professionalism
• Work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings.

• Very organized (scheduling bell ringers, pick up routes, etc.)
• Understand the mission and purpose of the Christmas Kettle Program
