Job summary

George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC seeks a Surgical Technologist to prepare supplies and instruments for surgical cases, support the team, position patients, and ensure room turnovers.

This CST-preferred role requires high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited surgical technology program or nursing degree, with English fluency and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalency and completion of an accredited surgical technology program or certification or degree from an accredited nursing program or equivalent.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
• English fluency required; strong communication, organization and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare supplies, equipment, and instrumentation for surgical cases.
• Anticipate needs in the surgical field when passing instruments and assist the surgical team in all procedures.

Position Summary

To meet the needs of the customer by having knowledge of the surgical procedure, preparing supplies, equipment, and instrumentation for surgical cases. Anticipates the needs in the surgical field when passing instruments, and assist the surgical team in all procedures. The surgical technician is responsible for his/her case clean up, for positioning patients, moving patients and room turnovers.
