Job summary

George Washington University Hospital in downtown Washington, DC, a 395-bed tertiary academic medical center operated by Universal Health Services, is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team. You will prepare supplies, equipment, pass instruments, position patients, and help with room turnovers, ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, completion of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent, and CST

Position Summary

To meet the needs of the customer by having knowledge of the surgical procedure, preparing supplies, equipment, and instrumentation for surgical cases. Anticipates the needs in the surgical field when passing instruments, and assist the surgical team in all procedures. The surgical technician is responsible for his/her case clean up, for positioning patients, moving patients and room turnovers.

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or certification or degree from an accredited nursing program or equivalent
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred

  • Able to speak and write English Fluently
