Job summary

TEEMA Solutions Group is looking for a dedicated OB Scrub Technologist to join the Labor and Delivery team in New York. This role requires handling surgical instruments, maintaining sterile environments, and supporting the surgical team with precision. Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, CST certification, and strong collaborative skills. Qualifications

  • Must have a Certificate in Surgical Technology or related qualification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

We are seeking a skilled and vigilant OB Scrub Technologist to join our elite Labor and Delivery team. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Surgical Instrumentation: Expertly handle, prepare, and organize the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for obstetric surgical procedures and emergency cesarean sections.
  • Sterile Field Vigilance: Maintain constant, unwavering vigilance over the sterile technique, ensuring a safe and infection‑free environment for every patient.
  • Surgeon Anticipation: Demonstrate a deep understanding of the specific surgical procedures being performed to proactively anticipate and meet the needs of the surgical team.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, or Registered Professional Nurse to support seamless operating room flow.
  • Quality & Patient Safety: Ensure high‑quality patient care throughout the operative experience by strictly adhering to hospital safety guidelines, universal precautions, and departmental standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Surgical Technology Pathways: Must meet one of the following state‑mandated criteria:
  • Graduate from a CAAHEP‑ or ABHES‑accredited program and holds/maintains a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
  • Successful completion of a military surgical technology program.
  • Grandfathered status (verified cumulative employment as a surgical technologist for at least 1 year within a healthcare facility during the designated regulatory window).
  • Current active service within the federal government, performing duties related to that service.
  • Credentials: Active Certification through a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization (e.g., Certified Surgical Technologist - CST).
  • Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Desired Qualifications
  • Specialized Experience: Prior hands‑on experience as a Surgical Technologist—ideally within a Labor & Delivery or acute care hospital setting is highly preferred.
Location and Work Type
  • Shift Information: Predictable Night Shift schedule (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM), consisting of 13 shifts per month, including rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Work Setting: On‑site within a high‑volume, fast‑paced Labor and Delivery unit.
